A few pictures I took in my Uhura costume. The rest are on my facebook page. My dad is a huge fan Star Trek fan and I remember growing up thinking how cool it was that this lady who looked like me was on tv going on all these great adventures. Uhura is such a dynamic, beautiful, smart character.  Seeing black women written as well rounded characters, who are capable of being powerful as well as loveable is so important, especially in a genre that means so much to me. So yep, pretty much going to love Nyota Uhura forever and always.

European States that Require Sterilization of Transgender People
Amendment: Denmark no longer requires sterilization

It should be noted that just because sterilisation isn’t a requirement in law doesn’t mean that it isn’t in practice a requirement, often targeting just women.
In the UK, sterilisation isn’t a legal requirement but it is something that the GRP asks for evidence of and does take into consideration, especially for women.

kazokuhouou asked: Sailor Moon, have you ever considered just removing the wings from your uniform?

I… they’re not exactly… removable… this isn’t a costume, you know?

Although, not gonna lie, sometimes when I fight in cramped spaces I kind of wish I could take them off. But they’re also really pretty, I think! Makes me look more imposing, too, ehehe….

Agent Carter Panel at San Diego Comic Con

There were exactly four people who got to ask questions during this panel

All four were women

Three of them were dressed as Agent Carter

And they all asked questions surrounding the fact that they loved hearing the story of a strong woman like Agent Carter in a world that seems to exclusively show the stories of strong men

So if you were wondering why this show is a big deal: That’s why.

What were your inspirations, especially since [Tauriel] is a completely created character; what brought you to bring that power because there were a lot of ways you could have played that role that would have been along the lines of what we usually see for a girl in an action movie where she’s not in the adventure, she’s the prize…?
